You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

– Maya Angelou

My name is Jazzmine Taylor. I am a US Navy veteran, visual artist, and creative director. I’m originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but I relocated to San Diego after joining the US Navy in 2012. I’ve since left active duty and have gone back to school to pursue my passion for art. I’m a multifaceted artist skilled in drawing, graphic design, painting, and more, but my greatest passion above all is photography. Over the years, I’ve evolved into a visual storyteller, documenting my life experiences and travels with my digital and film cameras. I find inspiration in nature, fashion, music, food, cinematography, and architecture. I started A Visual Diary to freely share my art without the restraints and pressures of social media. I don’t care for trends. I’m not here to make myself marketable or to sell you things you don’t need. I’m simply just here to be my artistic self. This blog also serves as a tribute to my grandma, Bettie Marie, for gifting me my first camera at age eight (THANK YOU! ❤️).
