You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

– Maya Angelou

My name is Jazzmine Taylor. I am a US Navy veteran, visual artist, and creative director. I’m originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but I relocated to San Diego after joining the US Navy in 2012. I’ve since left active duty and have gone back to school to pursue my passion for art. I’m a multifaceted artist skilled in drawing, graphic design, painting, and more, but my greatest passion above all is photography. Over the years, I’ve evolved into a visual storyteller, documenting my life experiences and travels with my digital and film cameras. I love traveling and experiencing new places. I find inspiration in nature, fashion, music, food, cinematography, and architecture. I started A Visual Diary to freely share my art without the restraints and pressures of social media. I don’t care for trends. I’m not here to make myself marketable. I’m simply just here to be my artistic self. This blog also serves as a tribute to my grandma, Bettie Marie, for gifting me my first camera at age eight (THANK YOU! ❤️).
